Namibia has large fishing fleet. Fishing is provide Namibia with 10% of GDP and gives jobs to 6% of workforce. The most common species are hake, monkfish, pilchard, horse mackrel and anchovy. Many foreign fishing vessels are landing catch in Walvis Bay and as well coming for repair at the shipyard located there.
