FORMER ICELANDIC SHIPS IN NAMIBIA

For the past years a number of Icelandic fishing vessels has been sold to Namibia. Theyr port of registry are either in Walvis Bay or Luteritz which are the two only harbours in the country. Some of those ships have been in front of my camera.

Bardi was build as Júlíus Geirmundsson ÍS (named after my grandfather). She was sold later to Síldarvinnslan and renamed Barði NK. Sold to Namibia in 2002

She once was Jón Vídalín ÁR

Etale Star was form Stodvarfjordur and her name was Kambaröst SU

Hólmatindur was also her name in Iceland

She had the name Leifur Eiríksson while flying the Icelandic flag
